28th September. Today in 2007 this web site was created with the hope of making Country Music events more widely known, and thus encouraging greater attendances and thus making the events more financially viable for the organisers and enjoyable for the audience.
Things began very well, but gradually, the number of clubs has fallen, for a variety of reasons, and now thanks to the pandemic, virtually all activity has ceased. Frequent changes to the Government restrictions mean that it is almost imposssible for organisers to arrange events. For instance, the paragraph below is taken today from the Government web site...
3.18 Can I go to my hobby club / amateur musical group / other leisure activity?
It is against the law to gather in groups of more than 6, where people are from different households or support bubbles. Some activities - such as those organised for under-18s - are exempt. In a COVID-19 Secure venue or public outdoor place, non-professional performing arts activity, including choirs, orchestras or drama groups can continue to rehearse or perform together where this is planned activity in line with the performing arts guidance and if they can do so in a way that ensures that there is no interaction between groups of more than 6 at any time.
If an amateur group is not able to ensure that no mingling takes place between these sub-groups of no more than 6 (including when arriving at or leaving activity or in any breaks or socialising) then such non-professional activity should not take place.
We are aware that some organisers are optimistic that events will be able to resume soon, and we can only hope that they are sucessful for both the audience, and the artistes who are currently unemployed.
If you are going to attend any events PLEASE check with the organisers as to rules and availability.
Hoping our normal servise can resume soon...

Welcome to the Kent Country web site.
This web site was set-up in 2007 to provide a central information point for anything connected with Country & Western Music in Kent (UK).
We aim to provide a service to the organisers of Country Music Clubs by making available details of their events, venues and contacts.
If you have any news or changes that you wish to pass on, Please contact us.
Suggestions are always welcomed, and we are always happy to hear of errors and omissions. News of planned '1-off' events are also welcomed Click here to see our Contact details.
Yes, as in NO money!!!!
Many people are not convinced that we can provide this web site and the service to the Clubs for FREE.
The fact is we can and do. Since we started in September 2007 we have not asked anyone for any money for this web site, and we have no intention of asking for any.
Designing and building web sites is my 'Hobby' and Maggie loves taking photos, and we also like to listen to Country Music this web site is the result.
We do the work, but we need the support of the Club Organisers to let us have the details of their events, along with any other relevant news.
